Favourite Coaching Moment:
In 2003 the Bluebirds 2nd Division team won the grand final in extra time. In 2016 the Under 12 City District school side won the Metropolitan North carnival trials for the first time in 50 years.
Season Goal:
To provide the team with a professional pathway in the NPL sector. To plan and organise challenging, informative and disciplined training sessions that truly develop the players individually and as a group.
About Gary:
Gary displays a great passion for the game of football and a wealth of coaching experiences in community, school and NPL settings. Attention to skill acquisition and player development has been achieved through coaching in the Moreton Bay United Football Club’s SAP academy programs in 2014 and 2015. In 2015 and 2016 Gary worked as an assistant coach to MBU Boys Under 16 programs. Advanced training sessions were planned, designed and carried out to align with the national curriculum.
While teaching at Kelvin Grove State Collage, Gary has co-ordinated and coached in the Football Excellence program. Success was attained with the Year 8 and 10 Kelvin Grove sides winning the Metropolitan Interschool finals in 2013. Over 5 years, Gary has trialed and coached the Under 12 City district team in the Met North carnival culminating in 2016 when the boys team won for the first time in 50 years. In 2015 and 2016, Gary has coached the Met North Under 15 Boys teams in the State School Championships coming runners up on both occasions.  During this time he has developed his player selection skills collaboratively by being on the State selection panels.
Gary is a keen and motivated coach who believes in developing young footballers professionally.
