Titanic fight lost

24th February 2010

OLYMPIC FC will be chasing its first win of the 2010 Brisbane Premier League when it takes on Taringa at Jack Speare Park on Sunday afternoon. After conceding two first-half goals, Olympic clawed its way back against Brisbane City at Newmarket on Sunday, only to go down 4-2.

City’s Alex Davani opened the homeside’s account with a powerful strike in the early exchanges before a concentration lapse at the back for Olympic allowed Wayne Knipe to extend the lead to two.

Olympic hit an extra gear after the break but not before conceding again.

Matt Heath made his presence felt with some blistering pace down the left flank which resulted in a goal before Alex Panic reduced the deficit to one.

But it was too little too late as Julian Zullo put the icing on the cake for the home side to claim a two-goal win.
