School Programs

Linking with extended schools co-ordinators and sport masters, out-of-school hours provision is delivered. This consists of school-based BREAKFAST CLUBS, LUNCH-TIME CLUBS and AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS. Additionally, we also offer SKILL-BASED HOLIDAY CAMPS during the school holidays.

Olympic FC has forged relationships with primary schools in South-East Queensland to deliver regular physical education (PE) lessons. The sessions are conducted in sync with appropriate national curriculum key stages relevant to schools. The syllabus covers a range of PE curriculum topics, in which a variety of sports and exercises will be taught to the pupils, focussing on agility, balance, coordination and movement. These skills and techniques will then be transferred into team games.

The PE curriculum can also involve theory-based sessions, including education about how the body works during exercise.

Our experienced PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues coaches have the ability to teach exciting, high-quality football. They will work with your players and coaches to achieve optimum levels of performance and teach the importance of team cohesion.

Effective partnerships have already been established between club and school. Specific coaching sessions, workshops and qualification courses are offered throughout the season to players, parents and coaches to assist with their individual development needs.

Given time to prepare, we are pleased to support tournaments and festivals for our partner schools by providing coaches as referees and prizes where necessary. In addition to the coaching program, all schools will be offered access to a range of school tournaments at set times throughout the academic year run by Olympic FC and potentially hosted at our Goodwin Park home ground.

All programs aim to improve physical fitness and fundamental movement skills. Each pupil will receive Olympic FC Football in the Community’s Healthy Lifestyle booklet ‘Goals 4 Life’. As well as outlining fun exercises, Goals 4 Life provides education about exercise and nutrition. Our aim is for children to improve their self-esteem, school performance and general wellbeing.

A comprehensive Teacher/Coach/Pupil Education program is provided for all parties to receive practical coaching advice as part of a school link initiative. Coach education courses are also delivered to up-skill vulnerable young people with the intention of employing them as front-line service staff within the strand to create community role models.
