Olympic FC are pleased to announce the signing of the exceptionally talented Kieran Sanders to our senior squad for the 2018 NPL season. After first coming to Queensland’s attention as a key figure in the FNQ Heat setup, Sanders made the move south to the Northern New South Wales NPL, claiming a premiership with Edgeworth Eagles. The Englishman is our second visa player, and is sure to elevate the quality of our squad.
Head Coach Ben Cahn has plenty to say about Sanders:
“Kieran’s a top player and top person. We’re very happy to have someone of his calibre on board. I think he’ll fit in really well to the squad we’re building and will suit the way we want to play.
He was outstanding in QLD 2 years ago with FNQ/Cairns FC. The players that were here then remember him well and are excited to have him with us. I’ve seen the footage of the game at Goodwin Park where he was almost unplayable.
Since then he’s had a good year at Edgeworth Eagles, winning the NNSW NPL premiership, going on a good FFA cup run and making the National NPL semi-finals. I’ve spoken to some people at Edgeworth that speak incredibly highly of him.
He’s a winner, wherever he goes he has success and I expect him to bring those qualities to Olympic next season.”
Welcome to Olympic Kieran!
