Olympic Football Club is excited to announce their inclusion in the Super Youth League for 2018
Football Brisbane has made the decision to include Olympic FC in the Red Lion Football Brisbane Super Youth League for 2018. The decision was conducted by a Working Group Panel made up from NPL, FQPL and Football Brisbane clubs from both a technical and committee view point and provided a cross section of representation. The following feedback was received and reviewed by the Panel:
- Competition size of the Super Youth League should remain at 12 teams while Divisional competitions remain at 10.
- NPL/FQPL should not be excluded from the highest leagues in junior football.
Currently, Football Brisbane rules of competition prohibit NPL clubs from competing in the Super Youth League. This restriction has now been amended for the 2018 season, allowing NPL clubs to compete in the Super Youth League. The decision to include NPL clubs in the Super Youth League provides an outcome which is fair to all Football Brisbane Member Clubs and provides opportunities for all to compete at the highest level within Football Brisbane competitions. While player development and talent identification are crucial, a vast majority of players play simply for enjoyment and love of the game. Football Brisbane has therefore decided to provide opportunities for all levels of ability to play in competitions that are competitive.
Olympic Football Club is ecstatic too be included in the 2018 Super Youth League and will continue to provide competitive football for all age levels.
