Olympic Football Club are excited to announce the appointment of Ben Cahn as Senior Men’s Head Coach for the 2018 PlayStation Australia National Premier League Queensland season.
Cahn joins Olympic Football Club following a successful two year tenure with the Central Coast Mariners, where he worked as the Youth Team Head Coach, Academy Head of Performance Phase and 1st Team Assistant Coach during his time with the club.
In his most recent season at the helm of the Mariners Youth, Ben achieved a top four finish in the New South Wales National Premier League and was one game away from winning his NYL Conference to earn a place in the Grand Final. He also oversaw the Under 18’s who won their league and Under 20’s who were finalists in the 2017 season.
The 29 year old Queensland local oversaw the development of players including; Adam Berry, Trent Buhagiar, Adam Pearce and Steve Whyte (now Seattle Sounders), all of whom have applied their trade in a professional football landscape as well as working with an abundance of established high calibre players, including Nick Montgomery and Luis Garcia.
As the Head Coach for Olympic Football Club, Ben will oversee the development pathway into Senior football, providing clear and concise direction for Olympic FC’s Youth to enable them to achieve their football goals. Ben’s acquisition will see him manage the 1st Team, Under 20’s and Under 18’s squads wholly as a part of Olympic FC’s direction for 2018.
Having achieved great success as the Academy Head Coach for the Central Coast Mariners, Olympic FC General Manager, Salvatore Sottile and Technical Director, Jimmy Gelagotis are thrilled to have a highly qualified and accomplished coach join the team:

“We are highly anticipating the 2018 NPL season and believe Olympic will be in the mix come September”.
Cahn also brings with him a high level of qualification, which includes an FFA/AFC A-License, Postgraduate Diploma in Football Business and Diploma’s in Sport Psychology, Sport’s Nutrition and Personal Training & Sport Massage Therapy.
