Men’s NPL Round 14 Preview: Olympic FC vs Western Pride

Round 14 of the PlayStation Australia National Premier League Queensland

Olympic FC return to Goodwin Park on Friday night as they welcome Western Pride in Round 14 of the National Premier League Queensland on Friday night at 8:30pm.

Olympic will be out to make immense after their shock 4-2 loss to Moreton Bay United on Friday night with a place in the Round of 32 of the Westfield FFA Cup up for grabs. Olympic struggled in possession in the first half before dominating proceedings in the second half, eventually succumbing to Moreton Bay in a fast, physical encounter in front of a vocal Goodwin Park crowd.

Olympic will now turn their attention to Western Pride, who Olympic knocked out of the FFA Cup in Round 5 of the competition after a 2-1 victory at Briggs Road Sporting Complex. The two sides also met in Round 3 of the National Premier League which saw a lone goal from Matt Heath ensure that Olympic left Briggs Road with all three competition points.

Olympic will look to continue their fantastic home form in the league which has seen only Northern Fury and Moreton Bay United leave with one point each, seeing Olympic remaining undefeated at Goodwin Park.

Olympic would like to see as many supporters at Goodwin park as possible to support our Senior Men who are set to face off with Western Pride at 8:30pm.

Olympic FC Player to Watch – Tom Carroll: Carroll will look to continue his superb run of form on Friday night as Olympic welcome Western Pride to Goodwin Park. Carroll has managed to hold numerous clean sheets in the first half of the National Premier League season and has made a handful of crucial saves to keep Olympic in the contest. Expect Carroll to continue this run of form and potentially hold Western Pride to a clean sheet at Goodwin Park.
